George Mallory and Andrew Irvine leaving the North Col for the last climb
This is the last known photograph taken of George Mallory and Andrew Irvine together. Three days later, the two men disappeared into the mists and where never seen again.
Noel Odell was a geologist and oxygen officer on the 1924 expedition. For two weeks he lived above 23,000 feet without supplementary oxygen. He also was the last man to glimpse Mallory and Irvine alive.
